## What Coherence is

Coherence was conceived in 2023 during the generative AI boom. The founding
concern was ethical: humanity is reckoning with a tool of unprecedented power
that carries an intelligence of its own, and the benefits arrive alongside
risks that have to be answered rather than deferred. The company exists to
build awareness around that shift and to build platforms where a collective
human voice can still be heard.

The name is the argument. Coherence is what happens when many separate signals
move in phase, and the human element is one of those signals, not an
afterthought.

## Mission

Two objectives, and one condition on both.

- Productivity: enhance what one person gets done in a day, aimed at the work
  people already have in front of them rather than a demonstration of what
  might be possible in a few years.
- Creativity: foster expression rather than substitute for it, so the person
  using the tool stays the author.
- The condition: the benefit has to be universal. Coherence builds to
  democratise access, so the transformative part of this technology does not
  settle quietly on the people who were already ahead.
